GREEN KEY AWARDS FOR YACHT HOTELS
Sunborn Gibraltar and Sunborn London have both been awarded Green Key certification – a leading standard for excellence in the fields of environmental responsibility and sustainable hotel operation.
The prestigious certificate represents a commitment by businesses that their tourism establishments adhere to the strict criteria stipulated by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). A Green Key stands for an establishment’s promise to its guests that by opting to stay with such an establishment, they are helping to make a difference on an environmental and sustainability level. The high environmental standards expected of these establishments are maintained through rigorous documentation and frequent audits.
For Sunborn London, Karen Thomson, Director commentes;
"Achieving Green Key certification is a significant milestone for us. It reflects our dedication to integrating sustainable practices in our hotel operation and taking action to reduce energy use and waste in our business. By taking these steps we not only protect the environment, we can also encourage the use of locally sourced fresh produce and provide our guests with the highest standards of responsible hospitality."
“I couldn’t be more proud of receiving this certification! We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our sustainable performance. It is an integral part of our business strategy and operating procedures, with regular review points. As the first recipient of the award in Gibraltar, I am proud to be at the helm leading the way. This requires persistence, innovation and a passion which we will continue to enliven in our business amongst our team, guests, suppliers and other stakeholders to follow suit.”
