SUNBORN IS THE NEW OWNER OF LOGOMO

Sunborn has acquired Hartela’s share in Logomo, one of the leading live music and event venues in Finland. A public private partnership with the City of Turku, the change of ownership took effect in November 2020 and will become visible to the public in the autumn of 2021.

Constructed in 2011 as part of Turku’s year as European Capital of Culture, Logomo has become a nationally recognised and successful live event and cultural venue, hosting the Voice of Finland live shows and live music concerts by well known international artists. In 2019 Logomo hosted 1 300 different events with 377 000 visitors. There are also 90 companies and artists renting offices and studios in the facility.

“Logomo is a nationally recognized and highly respected event house. We want the property to continue to provide an interesting, pulsating and surprising place for visitors. We will continue developing the experience, as well as the restaurant and meeting services together with Logomo’s highly competent and professional team, ” commented Riikka Kuusniemi, CEO of Sunborn Events.

Following the acquisition, Sunborn is investing in Logomo, developing the restaurant services and event facilities. The plans include renewing the restaurant concepts and opening a bakery at Logomo, among other things.

Jarkko Virtanen, Director of Corporate Governance at the City of Turku, says that the city is very satisfied with the new owner, who is willing to develop the event hall together with the city; “Logomo is a very important event house for Turku and also a home for culture from the very beginning. With the new owner, Logomo’s position as a significant event and cultural centre in Turku will be further strengthened, ”says Virtanen.
