PLANNING PERMISSION FOR NEW LONDON YACHT
Planning permission has been granted for the new Sunborn London, a newly constructed eco-friendly yacht hotel with 225 rooms and extensive leisure and event facilities. The new floating hotel is currently under development, with construction scheduled to start in Q4 2024.
The purpose-built floating hotel will be 134m long with 7 hotel floors and will be located where the current Sunborn London is docked by the main entrance of ExCeL London. On board guests will enjoy a remarkable contemporary hotel interior with many new innovations to enhance the hotel experience.
Hans Niemi, Executive Director of Sunborn;
“We want to create something at the forefront of what a hotel in 2023 should be. A new purpose-built London yacht hotel has been part of the company’s long-term plans for some time, and had been made feasible after operating at around 85% occupancy rates in recent years.”
Hans added; “We also have an important environmental goal with the new hotel. To achieve carbon zero status, which is something which we can now achieve with our yacht hotels, using new green technology and partnerships we’ve developed over recent years”.
The new Sunborn London will be the world’s most environmentally friendly floating hotel, constructed using the next generation of sustainable, energy efficient materials, as well as innovative HVAC design, smart glazing, ultra efficient insulation and heat exchange systems to eliminate fossil fuel energy sources.
